You've Built the Foundation with Schroth, Pilates, or Gyrotonic.
Now Let's Build Functional Strength
on Top of It.
Turn your body awareness into power—so you can hike, run, lift, and move confidently in everyday life.
You've done the work:
Months (or years) of Schroth method, Gyrotonic, Pilates, or Iyengar yoga
You understand your curve type, rib rotation, and breathing patterns
You've built postural awareness and spinal stability
And that foundation has been invaluable.
You move more mindfully. You breathe better. You know your body in ways most people never will.
But now you're asking:
"How do I train for a hike without my back fatiguing halfway up the trail?"
"Can I safely train for a 10K—or even just keep up in a bootcamp class?"
"I see people deadlifting and doing pull-ups—is that possible for me?"
"I want to feel STRONG, not just aligned. Where do I go next?"
Here's the truth:
Schroth, Gyrotonic, and Pilates gave you exactly what they're designed to give: awareness, alignment, and corrective patterning.
But functional strength training—the kind that prepares you for real-world demands—is a different skill set.
That's where I come in.
Hi, I'm Jacqui—and I've been exactly where you are.
I have scoliosis. I've done the Schroth method. I've spent years in yoga studios and on the reformer.
And I'm deeply grateful for that foundation—it taught me how to move with intention and respect my spine.
But when I wanted to:
Do handstands
Train for partner acrobatics
Deadlift, squat, and press with confidence
Go to group fitness classes and participate fully
...I realized I needed to layer functional strength training on top of my corrective foundation.
That's what I do now as a trainer:
I help clients who've already built body awareness through Schroth, Gyrotonic, Pilates, or Iyengar yoga take the NEXT step: building load tolerance, strength, and power that transfers to everyday life.
Here's what that looks like:
✅ I assess YOUR curve type, movement patterns, and current strength baseline (building on what your Schroth/Pilates instructor already taught you)
✅ I teach you how to deadlift, squat, press, and hinge SAFELY for your spine
✅ I program progressive strength training that respects your alignment work while building functional capacity
✅ I show you how to modify exercises in gyms and group classes so you can participate confidently
✅ I train you for YOUR goals—whether that's hiking Lantau Peak, running a 10K, or finally doing an unassisted pull-up
I don't replace your Pilates or Gyrotonic practice.
I complement it.
Think of it this way:
Schroth/Pilates/Gyrotonic = Your foundation (awareness, alignment, corrective breathing)
Functional strength training = The next layer (load tolerance, power, real-world movement capacity)
You need both.
✅ You've already done Schroth, Gyrotonic, Pilates, or Iyengar yoga—and you value what it taught you
✅ You want to build strength and load tolerance ON TOP OF that foundation
✅ You have a specific goal: a race, a hike, a sport, or just feeling STRONG in everyday life
✅ You're tired of sitting out half the exercises in group fitness classes
✅ You want a progressive strength program—not just corrective breathing and isometric holds forever
✅ You're a working professional (lawyer, consultant, corporate exec) who values long-term investment in your body
✅ You're ready to put in the work daily to build on your corrective foundation
This is NOT for you if:
❌ You're looking for a "fix" in 6 weeks (strength takes time)
❌ You want someone to just give you a generic program and never check your form
❌ You're not willing to put in consistent work (I can't do the reps for you)
"I spent 2 years doing Pilates for my scoliosis and it helped my posture—but I wondered What Next? Jacqui taught me how to pull-up, deadlift, and actually BUILD strength on top of my pilates foundation - without feeling it in my curvature. Now I hike and play tennis every week and feel stronger than I did in my 20s."
— Sarah L., Corporate Lawyer, Scoliosis Client
If you're a Schroth practitioner, Gyrotonic instructor, Pilates teacher, or Iyengar yoga instructor reading this:
I'm not here to replace what you do.
I deeply respect the corrective foundation you build with your clients. Body awareness, breathing, and alignment work are ESSENTIAL—especially for scoliosis clients.
But many of your clients will eventually ask:
"How do I get stronger for hiking / running / daily life?"
"Can I lift weights safely?"
"How do I participate in group fitness classes?"
That's where I come in.
I specialize in helping clients layer functional strength training on top of the corrective foundation YOU built.
I don't undo your work—I build on it.
If you have clients who've "graduated" from corrective-only training and want to build load tolerance and real-world strength, I'd love to collaborate.
